What We Are
The Jacob's Light Foundation is a program of love, dedication, support and the quintessential example of selflessness. In essence it is a program providing much needed support, be it material, medicinal or emotional, to our brothers and sisters fighting abroad.
Where We Started
Jacob's Light Foundation was founded in honor of Jacob Samuel Fletcher. Jacob was killed November 13th, 2003, 11 days before his 29th birthday. An IED (improvised explosive device) exploded as the bus he was on traveled on Highway 1 in Samarra. An all too common occurrence.
Prior to his untimely death, Jacob had written his mother, Dorine Kenney, another common occurrence. What was uncommon about one letter was his request that his mother send one of his buddies a box of goods, as this friend hadn't received anything from home. An obviously selfless and compassionate gesture. He continued these requests as there were a number of soldiers who apparently had similar needs. This giving and caring quality is an undeniable family trait, as Dorine was more than happy help when Jacob asked.

A Candle Is Lit
When Jacob's 29th Birthday arrived, Dorine sent the first box of supplies to Iraq. This subsequently became the birth of The Jacob's Light Foundation. A foundation that, to date, has sent 75,000 lbs of materials and letters to support Jacob's military brothers and sisters. Today Dorine, with the help of numerous people and sources, continue this mission to comfort and support our selfless, brave hero's overseas in her son's honor and loving memory.

What We Provide
What we are doing is packing boxes with toiletries, foods and snacks, reading and writing materials as well as bug wipes, sunscreen, batteries and other necessities for our troops. Special items are sent for the holidays. We also include letters from the public and letters and pictures
from children.
We also care for soldiers who’s families cannot afford to send boxes to their loved ones.We shop in between our packing dates and with the help of volunteers move the stored items to the American Legion where we set them
up for the following evenings packing. Twenty to twenty five wonderful volunteers gather to pack the boxes.
The following day a volunteer brings the boxes to the post office for mailing.

A New Partnership
Emergency Products + Research, in conjunction with
J2 Studio, have teamed up to provide these pages in an effort to gain support for The Jacob's Light Foundation. We are asking that our distributors, our partners, friends and family to consider this touching story and give their support in any way they can. What we can give our troops on the home front is nothing compared to what they are giving to us, and our children, abroad.
